Biography - Trevor Jipson

Assistant Groundsman

Trevor Jipson

Ever since I was a young man I have been interested in all things relating to aviation. Up until my late teens I was a keen modeller making and flying mainly control line aircraft although I did venture into radio which, at the time was single channel using a combination of hard valves and early transistors. I served an engineering apprenticeship in the aircraft industry, but like many young men became involved with motor cars and sadly ceased my involvement with model aircraft.
Following my retirement I decided that I needed a new interest which would be challenging and also provide me with a social outlet so I decided to seek membership of the Raydon and District Model Aircraft Club. I was fortunate enough to be accepted as a member in early 2022 and have never looked back. In order to give something back to the Club I volunteered to undertake the role of Assistant Groundsman and have enjoyed helping to carry out the various duties including looking after the maintenance machinery and equipment.
